FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $38 per hour for in-person lessons and $32 per hour for online lessons. I offer a permanent rate discount after 2 hours of lessons and a one-time referral discount of $10 for each student you refer that books at least one lesson with me. For travel over 10 miles away I charge a flat $5 travel fee, but I waive this fee for new students.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I require a specific goal (improve test scores, prepare for tests, increase confidence, learn a technique, solve a type of problem) and at least one day advance notice. I will then prepare material (or use and improve existing material) and customize my approach based on the student's needs and goals. I work at the student's preferred pace.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. I am also less than a year away from completing a Master's degree in Information Technology. Besides this, I have nearly a decade of experience in the retail industry as a software engineer. I have also taught programming classes in a professional workplace environment, for which I was required to take facilitation training. I also have three years of mentoring experience.
