FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was a child my folks had one of the, if not the best light displays around town. As a child of 7 or 8 one night the door bell rang and as my father went to the door he called my sister and myself over to the door. Low and behold Santa Claus was there in person at my door. He wished us a Merry Christmas and thanked us for having such a wonderful light display. I will never forget that night for as along as I live! So many years later I decided after some coaxing from my mother and my uncle to portray the jolly man in the red suit. I now know that I am providing many memories for others and someday they may look back on my visits with as much pride as I do.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be sure to get what you paid for. Many times Santas will display photos of Santa only to not be the man in the photo. Also, experience is something you need to look for in a Santa. Santa gets a lot of questions of little folks and he must be quick on his toes with a witty response. He also has to be on the look out for those children who will question him as to if he is real or not, and the right answer is often sought after and that in turn will cause doubt in a childs mind. He needs to be witty, funny, prompt, professional, and most of all have the Christmas spirit. Santa has to be ready for the unexpected and ready to spread happiness and joy to all he meets.
