- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, we do. Within the first year after getting a RE license a new agent has to take post licensure courses. It's an 18 hr (2 long days) course. We also have to take an ethics course every 4 years. We try to read the newsletters, eletter and Realtor Association's updates to keep abreast with the news. It is definitely a profession where one cannot stay stale.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have moved around with 4 kids every 6-8 months depending on my husband's jobs. I have viewed and rented many homes. I decorated, scrubbed, cleaned, dealt with property management for years. This past winter our family sold our old home and relocated. Because of a short sale not going through we didn't get to spend the Christmas nor New Years holidays together. We lived in an RV with 4 kids for 6 months and were ready to be in a real home. 3 weeks later and one more offer on a different house we are enjoying a gorgeous 4 br home. I decided to become a realtor so NO ONE else has to go through what we did!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do you want honesty and no beating around the bush? Do you want someone who keeps in touch via em, txt, phone call? Do you want someone that you can trust to get the job done? That's me. I am a mother to 4 children and honesty and hard work are character traits I work hard to instill in my children. I do so by example.
