About
Ostinato Piano Studio offers online piano coaching and consultation with Dr. Vitaly Serebriakov, Yamaha Performing Artist, concert pianist, and teaching artist.
These sessions are designed for intermediate and advanced students who already have piano experience and want focused, artist-led feedback on technique, tone, interpretation, practice strategy, and deeper musical understanding.
This is not a beginner online lesson program. It is best suited for committed teens and adults who want to advance their playing with professional guidance.
Robert Hamilton, renowned pianist, Steinway Artist, and Professor of Piano at Arizona State University, described Dr. Serebriakov as “an uncommonly successful teacher.” He also noted his ability to help gifted pianists develop “a first-rate piano sound” through a deep understanding of the Russian school of piano playing.

I have been truly enjoying my lessons with Vitaly. Although the current situation only allows us to have online lessons, I do not feel deprived of the quality and professionalism of the work that Vitaly does. He is such a patient and thoughtful teacher who is able to clearly and efficiently communicate the idea or the concept. What won me over is his warm attitude and his sense of humor which is much needed in the world of classical music.

Vitaly’s an amazing teacher and permits you to focus on emotions whilst playing the piano instead of playing all the correct notes with no emotion! His lesson allowed me to understand another side of piano!

As an adult returning to piano after over a decade, I was nervous to start again, but Vitaly exceeded my expectations and has provided an educational experience far beyond what I initially envisioned. His teaching is both fun and personable while also emphasizing meticulous technique and the ability to thoughtfully interpret each piece. It has been an absolute privilege to learn from someone so skilled and dedicated to their craft, I am continually amazed at the wealth of knowledge I am presented with in every lesson. I would highly recommend the Ostinato Conservatory to anyone seeking immaculate musical instruction.

Vitaly is an absolute gem of a teacher, with a very thorough understanding of everything music—from history, theory, and counterpoint, to the most minuscule details of crafting sound at the piano. In the space of just a few months, he helped me make dramatic improvements in just about every aspect of my musicianship. He is equally gifted as a pianist and as a teacher.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Online piano coaching sessions are $100 per hour.
These sessions are designed for students who already have piano experience and are not intended as beginner online lessons. Most students schedule 60-minute consultations, though longer sessions may be available when appropriate.
There are no required long-term contracts. For ongoing coaching, lessons may be scheduled weekly, biweekly, or as needed depending on the student’s goals.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually begin with a brief conversation about the student’s background, current level, goals, and the specific areas they would like to improve.
For online coaching, I may ask the student to send a short video recording before the first session, especially if they want feedback on technique, tone, interpretation, or practice strategy. This helps me understand their playing and make the session more focused.
During the first session, we work directly on the student’s repertoire or technical concerns. I give detailed feedback, practical practice suggestions, and a clear sense of what should be improved next.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and have trained with distinguished pianists and pedagogues, including Vladimir Feltsman and Paul Ostrovsky.
My background combines advanced conservatory-style training, professional performance experience, and many years of teaching students at different levels. As a Yamaha Performing Artist, concert pianist, and teaching artist, I bring a strong emphasis on sound production, technique, interpretation, and long-term musical development to my work with students.
