FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Online piano coaching sessions are $100 per hour. These sessions are designed for students who already have piano experience and are not intended as beginner online lessons. Most students schedule 60-minute consultations, though longer sessions may be available when appropriate. There are no required long-term contracts. For ongoing coaching, lessons may be scheduled weekly, biweekly, or as needed depending on the student’s goals.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually begin with a brief conversation about the student’s background, current level, goals, and the specific areas they would like to improve. For online coaching, I may ask the student to send a short video recording before the first session, especially if they want feedback on technique, tone, interpretation, or practice strategy. This helps me understand their playing and make the session more focused. During the first session, we work directly on the student’s repertoire or technical concerns. I give detailed feedback, practical practice suggestions, and a clear sense of what should be improved next.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and have trained with distinguished pianists and pedagogues, including Vladimir Feltsman and Paul Ostrovsky. My background combines advanced conservatory-style training, professional performance experience, and many years of teaching students at different levels. As a Yamaha Performing Artist, concert pianist, and teaching artist, I bring a strong emphasis on sound production, technique, interpretation, and long-term musical development to my work with students.
