FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, constantly. Self-study, select workshops with photographers who are very proficient in their fields, and mentoring. I am constantly working on improving.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I purchased my first DSLR camera looking to become a skydiving photographer. I come from a family of artists but had always worked in sculpture (stone, metal and paper). As soon I began teaching myself how to use it, I fell in love with the limitless possibilities to create (plus it took a lot less time than stone...). Within 2 years I knew I wanted to do nothing else, had my first solo show, and my first group exhibition in NY. I'm still at the very beginning of my career, but am enjoying every single minute.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I shoot a LOT of underwater - everything from fashion, to product, to sports, to art can be shot completely underwater and makes for a highly unique image. I also do a fair amount of composite work for athletes. Composites are when the model and background are shot separately, and merged together seamlessly in photoshop. I use HDR very subtly to obtain a high level of detail.
