After this experience, I absolutely think more parents should consider it for a birthday party.
I hired him to perform at my son’s 12th birthday party because I wanted to do something different from the typical trampoline place, Peter Piper Pizza, or other birthday places. We usually have parties at home and try to come up with some type of theme or entertainment, and this ended up being such a great choice.
We had around 11 kids, and he was absolutely amazing with them. Anyone who has been around a group of kids knows they aren’t all going to sit perfectly still and focus for an entire hour. We had some kids who had a harder time sitting still or paying attention and would get up during the show, and he handled it so well. He never seemed bothered or let it interfere with what he was doing. He worked with them, kept the show moving, and found ways to pull their attention right back in.
He was also very interactive with the kids. They loved questioning him and trying to figure out how he was doing things, and instead of being thrown off by it, he seemed to love it because it gave him another chance to stump them. 😂
What really stood out to me was how much effort he made to include everyone. With around 11 kids, he made a real effort to involve the whole group and brought different kids up to help him with tricks. Obviously, at a much larger event it would be harder to personally involve everyone, but for a smaller birthday party like ours and a one-hour show, the amount of interaction was fantastic.
He also made sure my son felt special as the birthday boy. He involved him throughout the show, did a special trick for him, and even gave him a gift card for his birthday, which was incredibly thoughtful and something he absolutely did not have to do. At the end, he also did a really cute mom-and-son trick with the two of us that I loved.
And it wasn’t just the kids who were entertained. He kept me and the other adults watching and entertained the entire time too. There were plenty of moments where all of us were trying to figure out how he did something right along with the kids.
I also really want to mention the affordability, because that was a huge part of why I almost didn’t hire a magician at all. Before finding him, someone had recommended another magician to me. During that conversation, I was quoted around $650 for a one-hour children’s birthday party, and I was also told that was around the average price for a magician for an hour. After hearing that, I honestly almost gave up on the idea completely because I couldn’t justify spending that much for one hour of entertainment at a kid’s birthday party.
Thankfully, I decided to keep looking and found him. His pricing was actually affordable for a regular family having a birthday party at home, while he still put on an awesome show. I didn’t feel like I was sacrificing quality at all because I wasn’t paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars. He showed up on time, gave us the full experience, kept the kids engaged, included them in the show, entertained the adults, and made my son’s birthday feel special.
He really is a great option whether you’re looking for a small, kid-centered birthday show or a larger event, and I know he also performs for adults. For our smaller birthday party, though, he was exactly what I was hoping to find.
If you’re a parent looking for something different for a birthday, don’t overlook having a magician come to the house. It gave the kids something completely different to experience, the adults enjoyed it just as much, and most importantly, my son had an awesome 12th birthday.
10/10 recommend. I would absolutely recommend him for birthday parties or other events any day. He definitely has my vote!

George McSly was better than I could have imagined. We hired him to perform as a surprise at my friend’s bachelorette party. We would have been happy with a few party tricks, but we were not at all prepared for the show that George had in store for us. He went above and beyond to blow our minds, and even took the extra trouble to make some tricks personalized to the bride, such as including her wedding date and her groom (in ways that none of us saw coming!). He was joined by his beautiful assistant, who equally blew us away with her charm and kindness. I do not think any magic show that I see from here on out could top that which was performed by Mr. McSly. I wish I had bachelorette trips in Southern AZ all the time to hire him again and again. Thank you George!!

We hired McSly Magic for a small Harry Potter themed birthday party for children between the ages 5-8, and we were very pleased we did. First of all it was something different than most of the birthday parties we attend, which made it somewhat novel. We hosted it at our home and the only thing we had to do to prepare for it is move a little bit of furniture around to make some space. He was very friendly, accommodating and demonstrated a genuine desire to please the kids. The show was fun and amusing, and he geared it toward Harry Potter. We had a couple skeptical 7-8 year olds and there were times he would let them think they figured him out. Then he would do a twist in the trick that kept them surprised and stumped. The adults enjoyed it as well and of course the most satisfying this is to see the children enjoy as much as they did. If you are thinking about hiring a magician, especially for K thru 2nd, I recommend hiring him. Thank you George for an enjoyable time!

George McSly was the perfect performer/ magician for my 4 year old's birthday party. Given the young age of the average guest, he worked out a 30 minute show for an adjusted rate and kept the attention of kids and parents alike the whole time! My daughter loved it, all her friends were engaged, and George McSly has been the talk of the preschool this week. A very positive experience, all around.

I cannot recommend George McSly enough! He did a combination of walk around magic and a small stage performance to end the magic portion of our evening before we began our murder mystery! It was a Halloween party to remember!!!! I loved the way he incorporated music into his show, too! It was just so fun and magical! My guests and I are still scratching our heads over all his tricks! Can't imagine how he did it!

I fell in love with the idea of entertaining people and making them forget all their problems even if only for a little while. I fell in love with the cleverness behind doing an illusion.
