About Clark Illustrations

Clark Illustrations is run by Chris Clark, a digital designer, illustrator, writer, and photographer living in Mesa, Arizona. He has been involved with art nearly all his life, and with over 7 years of serious industry experience, he can guarantee you an exceptional product.

Chris focuses on cover art, concept art, caricatures/portraiture, and children’s books, but can create just about any type of 2D illustrations and designs created digitally with Photoshop, Corel Painter, Illustrator, CorelDraw, and traditional mediums as well.

These include, but aren't limited to t-shirts, children's books, cover art, concept art, and company designs, such as logos, storyboards, caricatures, and portraiture.

He can create just about any type of 2D art; just ask. He also provides lessons to anyone interested in learning more about digital or traditional art.

If you would like to have something designed or illustrated or want a lesson, please contact Clark Illustrations. He has contracts available, if interested (but not always necessary). Any detail or reference imagery is immensely helpful.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Feel free to ask as many questions as possible, and provide any insight, images, links, etc. that you may have to better convey your vision. The more details the better, but keep in mind that a little creative freedom can go a long way. Also I, like most freelance artists, will require a deposit before starting a project, but no amount of money is needed to discuss what you're looking for so ask away!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Know your platform! Meaning, if for instance you want a t-shirt design, know what file types you need (is it vector or raster?), shirts, printers (screenprint, DTG, etc.). Also, contracts are not necessary, but can be a big help in providing safety, and there is a lot to learn about them. Inside secret: you ALWAYS get what you pay for.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Round price quote (but don't expect an exact one right away before discussing major specifics) turn-around time, experience (if you don't know already), and anything you don't know about the service (for instance, many people don't know the difference between vector and raster digital images, and the difference is huge!)

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. If you are looking for a particular style, medium, etc... please do your homework. I can provide anything from Vector logos, to digital paintings, to colored pencil drawings, and a whole lot more. Most customer's issues stem from lack of knowledge in what they want created.
