FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do have standard pricing that can vary with market conditions. Usually pricing is based on square feet [sf] or linear feet [lf] of product to be installed or possibly on a time & material [T&M] basis. I charge based on the actual sf of floor space not on the amount of material ordered. You won’t be paying for installation labor for material that will not end up on the floor.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A phone, email or text consult is normally the first step after contact is initiated. Project specifics are discussed and I believe at that time both the client and I are trying to pre-qualify and/or determine whether we can meet each other’s needs. I can often provide a ballpark price on project costs at that time based on the information provided. The next step would be for me to visit the site, perform a field measure and prepare an itemized written quote for the scope of work discussed. Sometimes when smaller projects are involved an agreement can be reached initially and my only trip would be to do the work. Otherwise, a date and time is scheduled to do the work after project specifics are agreed upon.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have varied, numerous education, training and experience in the flooring industry. Some of the highlights can be viewed on the résumé page of my website.
