FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing research in college classes, and when I was in an accident, I started researching the applicable laws because I suffered severe injuries. My entire life was changed by that accident, and I found out that many of the medical issues I have since experienced were much easier to deal with when I was aware of what was happening. I found that I was reading the law blogs and getting updated on the RSS feeds, and I was so interested with the language and the intricacy of legal pleadings, and I have been interested ever since. Researching is like my Sodoku or crossword puzzle, I find it intriguing and interesting. I research why cases get denied, and compare them to cases that win, and I found that many self represented parties lost their cases simply because their background research was not detailed enough for a two sided approach, that is arguing for their side as well as against the other parties claims. Another important element that is missing from many of those cases is lack of specific content. Many pleadings fail because the facts are not set out in a clear, concise manner, and are reduced to generalizations that are not sufficient to identify the issues the court must decide.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I am very skilled in family law research, social security and disability research, rights restoration, child support, vocational rehabilitation, mortgage, and consumer credit. I am also very interested in personal rights, as I intend to be a civil rights lawyer.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When searching for any legal service, always know that legal enthusiasts are operating with a higher level of knowledge regarding what does and does not work in their specific field. Anyone who searches for a service like this needs to have cash in hand, since the cost savings can be eaten up with late fees, interest, and court costs if you do not do your homework too. Anyone who does not want to be up front and discuss the boundaries of their services and secure a contractual agreement that you understand explicitly what is and is not included. IF you are an informed consumer, you can save a substantial amount of money in the long run. Attempting any legal transaction without full disclosure is simply tempting the fates. If you are already involved in a case, you most certainly don't want to compound your issues with more problems.
