- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always ensure that the contractor has an Arizona Registrar of Contractors license. Also ensure that there is no complaints on their license, it can be looked up quite easily on the ROC website. Also make sure they are licensed for the work they do, commercial or residential or both. Ensure the contractor has liability insurance and workmen's comp. to protect yourself from lawsuits or damage to the property from the work performed. It doesn't matter how good a contractor is accidents do happen and that is why insurance and workmen's comp is so important.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Integrity is most important. We don't run 15 amp outlet circuits because the customer is too likely to have breakers tripping. This means we have to use more expensive 12 gauge wire over 14, but long term the customer is happier. We only use airtight recessed can lighting to protect the customer from higher heating and cooling bills. We source our LED lighting directly because our lights are brighter and warmer in color. They also are significantly more reliable than LED lights one will see at big box stores.
