About

Hi there! My name is Nat and I'm an illustrator. Here's a little bit about working with me: I pride myself in keeping clear and ongoing communication with my clients. I always send out sketches and updates to make sure that I'm on the right track and that you'll be happy with the final product! Please check out my "projects" to see price estimates based on different kinds of jobs :) for children's books, my rate is $100 per illustration; cheaper if it's something extremelly simple. I can make portraits (realistic or stylized), I can illustrate for advertisements, wedding invitations, D&D character sheets, children's books, general picture books, comics, magazines, websites, and personalized greeting cards or bookmarks! I normally create digital pieces (with a traditional charm!), but if you have a preference I can also work in watercolors, charcoal and graphite. What I do not do: I won't copy another artist's style, ever; I do not do animation (I can do storyboards tho!); I do not do 3d art; I won't do books involving copyrighted characters/material; I do not do logos; I prefer projects that are not animal-heavy, as I specialize in drawing people; I'm not a designer and cannot format and publish for you.

I sure do wish I could choose all five options concerning what I liked about working with Nat. She was incredibly friendly, professional, and punctual when it came to the art piece she created for me. Not only that, she was invested beyond compare in the characters she so lovingly brought to life for me and expressed her joy in doing so often. I feel as though no other artist can compare to Nat's ability to create movement and emotion in their art, and I believe the piece she made for me does speak for itself more than I ever could for it. I am incredibly grateful that she has crafted me one of my most prized possessions - I was concerned that an artist would not see into my characters' soul the way I do, but she truly did with attention to detail. One word I would use to describe it would be incomparable.

I hired Nat to do a portrait of me and my girlfriend as characters from a cartoon we love. Nat was amazing. She came up with a really neat concept for the art that I wouldn't have thought of. She showed me progress pictures to make sure things looked the way I wanted, and changed things around if they weren't quite right. She let me be involved, which was really nice. She captured the idea beautifully and the dynamic between my girlfriend and I. Her prices were reasonable, she did things in a timely manner, and really seemed to care about the art she was doing and how I liked it. I have nothing but praise for Nat, and would hire her again in a heartbeat.

Price depends on the complexity of the project as well as the kind of art you want. Please check out my "projects" for price estimates!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is for you to send me descriptions and, if you want, reference images. I might have questions for you, to figure out exactly what you want. Then, I'll send you an initial sketch for approval before I go ahead and finish it. If necessary/requested, I can send you updates for approval as I go, so we can be sure we're on the same page!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Arizona State University, with a focus in drawing. I've also taken online courses and participated on a watercolor bootcamp in France.
