Introduction
My lessons are very personalized, according to the needs of each student, regardless of age or level of experience. I am known for applying all reading and theory skills directly to music or songs that the student wants to play. For beginners, I cover all the basics for a strong foundation. I love teaching piano. My methods have grown and become polished so that the student is rewarded with fast results, which in turn is rewarding to me. For adults, regardless of experience, new worlds open up to you in areas such as classical, jazz, blues, pop, broadway, and the important theory to go with them. Children get the basics in a pleasant, "child-friendly" atmosphere.

We are so lucky to have found George Herzog on Thumbtack. My 17 year-old son has been wanting to pick up the piano for the last few years and I finally followed through and found George and it couldn’t have been a better fit! George is very accommodating with his schedule, and tailors his lessons to the student. My son literally learned how to read piano music within 3 lessons! Seriously impressive!!! I love hearing my son practice at home, he has picked it up so well!! George is a wonderful, professional piano teacher, we highly recommend George!

I hired George to give my 13 yr old lessons. He has been an invaluable resource. My daughter has learned more with George in just a few lessons than all the class lessons and music school lessons combined. He is an excellent teacher and a genuinely nice guy. I strongly recommend him to anyone looking for a piano teacher.

My first -of many to come- lessons was nothing but joy! He is talented beyond belief and knows how to convey his knowledge effectively. I have not played for many many years and wanted to get back into studying the piano. George did not make me feel stupid about anything, and he was completely encouraging and funny too. I am excited to continue lessons with him as often as I can. I encourage young and old to allow George to share his musical world with you. He is a wonderful gentleman with a wealth of knowledge ! You will not be disappointed!

My kids love taking piano lessons from George. My daughter is 13 and my son is 10. George is very patient and kind with my kids. They really enjoy their lessons with him. I usually stay and read a book. His place is very comfortable for all of us. I highly recommend George for any parent who's kids have interest in learning piano. Chris

    My education and experience is extensive and rounded. 12 years of private classical lessons/2 years at Juilliard/2 years as arranger and keyboardist for a blues-rock band/10 years of jazz lessons privately and Sounds of Joy studios in Manhattan/30 years teaching and performing in NYC and AZ in Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix Metropolitan area.
