I met Ella this past July 4th weekend for my first horseback riding lesson. She was quite the chatterbox, instructing me in the ways of a horse and how to handle those massive creatures. She gave me a lot of useful knowledge and I am looking forward to my next riding lesson. I highly recommend Ella.

My daughter is 7 years old and learning English Riding. Linda really empowers her to be an independent rider that is responsible for her horse and her learning. My daughter counts the days until her next lesson.

Samantha Walker has spent her whole life around horses and her passion and love for them permeates all aspects of her business especially the time she spends teaching others about horsemanship. She has been instructing our daughter for over three years. With the heart of teacher and the eye of an expert she is patient and persistent in teaching our daughter to continually improve as a competitive rider. While Sam is a true “horse whisperer” she also has a great way of relating to her students and fostering in them a love for the horses and the sport of horseback riding.

Louise works with each horse and rider according to individual abilities and readiness to progress to the next level. Using classic dressage fundamentals, she transformed my cranky, resistant horse into a willing partner who actually was proud of himself when he did well. Through yoga techniques, both on the ground and in the saddle, I became more aware of how my movements could either hinder or support my horse’s fluidity. And together we became a team.

Our facility offers a complete horsemanship program, i.e. ground work, bathing, grooming and riding. Our facility is very family oriented offering free riding to our families on Saturday and Sunday afternoons The most rewarding part of our program is watching the children smile and learn. Our special needs children just tug at your heart when they are finally able to ride a horse on their own

I was always a bit timid about being around horses, but being an animal enthusiast, I was determined to learn more about them. Fortunately, I met Cassandra with South Mountain School of Horsemanship. Together, we discussed my goals and set out a plan of attack to achieve them. Each time I showed up, she had an individualized lesson plan ready for me based upon my progress, and sometimes gave me some fun homework assignments to prepare me for next time. The no pressure environment makes for a great learning experience. She is kind, light-hearted, and an excellent communicator. Working with Cassandra, you immediately know you are being taught by the best. She worked with me patiently, teaching me how to predict a horse’s every behavior based upon their natural instincts, which lessened my anxiety with every visit. She taught me how to become the horse’s leader, allowing for a relationship based upon mutual respect. Her efforts have made me extremely comfortable both on and around them, and my riding ability has skyrocketed. I can’t believe the strides I’ve made in such a short period of time! I’m even beginning to learn to jump! I can’t wait to see what she teaches me next…

We offer private horseback riding lessons for beginners in both English and Western disciplines using natural horsemanship methods. Horse boarding is also available. What makes our program unique is that we only accept a limited amount of horses and riders, guiding them through the basic riding skills to the knowledge of true horsemanship. We are encouraging to our riders and care about their progress through the levels of learning and in choosing their own destination of achieving the level they desire. We provide the horse for your lessons.

Because lessons are private lessons, the focus is always on the individual student. Teaching the student how to have a balanced seat is crucial to having a balanced and safe ride. My students all do well in their riding ability and it is evident when one watches them ride. It is rewarding to see them progress from week to week in their horsemanship skills. As I have said, "the difference is in the ride." Plus, my students learn how to safely groom and saddle the horse, and lead the horse. Everything in their lesson is designed to help the student grow in their own personal development while also developing a close and loving relationship with the horse, and learning how to ride with balance at the walk, trot, and canter. I truly love working with all of my students, including my students with special needs. It is a thrill to see them progress from week to week and grow in their self-esteem and self-confidence. Through the horses, I am able to make a positive impact on my students' lives and their families that I know will have a profound affect on their futures. When I am asked what I do for fun, my reply is "my work."

I teach Western riding, with a focus on understanding your horse and your relationship with him/her. I also provide instructions on care, diet, kinetics, training and troubleshooting issues with your animal. I am a licensed BSN in AZ and MI and I also work with disabled students and horses, providing an opening for the development of a mutually beneficial relationship between the horse and rider. In the course lessons, I am including some minor work about care maintenance and repair of tack and out buildings. I believe that providing students with a thorough understanding of their animal's psychological and physiological response to his environment and various stimuli in it gives them a solid ground that provides them with all they will need to continue happily working with their animal long after I'm gone.

I focus on teaching foundation riding skills. If you understand "why" you are asking a horse to do a movement, then it is easier to communicate your requests to the horse. If you can do a great walk, then you will have an easier time doing a great trot, which makes it easier to do a great canter. I believe in building to every level and using the confidence you achieve with each success to fuel the next success.
