Colby was great to work with. He easily understood the scope of work and came in at a very reasonable price point. We are really pleased with the results of the fence work he did for us and we will definitely be hiring him for future projects.

Colby is an excellent handyman. He repaired my lower kitchen cabinets beneath my island after another "handyman" had first painted them, but the paint began to chip off almost immediately. Colby addressed that issue by first sanding them and applied a primer after which he painted them. After Colby explained that the cabinets had not been trimmed properly so we had him add the missing painted trim that the other guy did not do and it certainly did give them a finished polished look. Now they appear like new and look wonderful. We plan to hire Colby again to assist us with a few more additional projects that the "other guy" worked on, but messed up as well, now we feel confident we are now in capable hands with Colby. He is very professional, punctual, kind, and exceptionally skilled in his craft. Hire Colby if you have something that needs to be repaired ,or built I guarantee you will be delighted with his work! The pro of working with Colbee. First, he is one of the best handymen out there as far as construction knowledge. He can do just about anything in the construction field. When I first hired Colbee, his prices were affordable and reasonable. During his first few jobs with me, everything went great—and I would have given him a 5 star rating.

1. Basement Door: He had to cut through block to install: definitely a 5/5 quality job. Price reasonable. See pictures
2. Basement Window: again no easy job—he had to cut through block: 5/5 quality and affordability.
3. He added another door—had to cut through wood-not shown, but 5/5 quality and affordability

I’m going to show you his great work and his not so good work in pictures so you can judge for yourself.

The cons; he had to add a drain outside for basement, whereas, he had to remove the concrete, add the drain, then redo the concrete. So, he left the 2– 2x4 forms there, which I just thought he left for the concrete to dry. No big deal. I’ve worked with masons a lot and this was fairly common. While I was cleaning the rubble, I noticed a pile of sand on the front step in front of the door. I had to really pull to remove the 2 forms and found that, he Never even cemented them in. I was furious. Not to mention, when I removed the forms more sand came out with roaches.

Also, I had paid him to remove all the block rubble that he had to cut through. A month went by, then two, still working for me, but I was forced to throw away the rubble a little each week, because he kept putting it off. Keep in mind, you’re not really supposed to put block concrete in your trash. The pile was filled with soda cans, and other carpentry items—and a roof rat had made a nest and home there after the first 2 weeks. Again, I was furious. So I contacted Colbee, and demanded that he fix the concrete and remove the small remaining debris immediately. To which he said, I told you that I would remove and fix the concrete once I finish my final project with you for the summer. Now, I’m really fuming. See photos. My response was forget the final project, I’m done. He said, fine, he would then come by the following day and fix the concrete. The next day to my surprise, he showed up and removed the small debris pile (small because I had placed large amounts weekly in my own trash can), but here’s the kicker—instead of doing the concrete, he simply cemented one 2 x 4 in
place. Who does this? See pictures.

As with many handyman and contractors in Prescott, a lot of them are good until they are not—not because of ABILITY, but usually because of some type of substance abuse problem. I hope this isn’t what happened to Colbee, but I’m not sticking around to find out.
