Introduction: Because lessons are private lessons, the focus is always on the individual student. Teaching the student how to have a balanced seat is crucial to having a balanced and safe ride. My students all do well in their riding ability and it is evident when one watches them ride. It is rewarding to see them progress from week to week in their horsemanship skills. As I have said, "the difference is in the ride." Plus, my students learn how to safely groom and saddle the horse, and lead the horse. Everything in their lesson is designed to help the student grow in their own personal development while also developing a close and loving relationship with the horse, and learning how to ride with balance at the walk, trot, and canter.
I truly love working with all of my students, including my students with special needs. It is a thrill to see them progress from week to week and grow in their self-esteem and self-confidence. Through the horses, I am able to make a positive impact on my students' lives and their families that I know will have a profound affect on their futures. When I am asked what I do for fun, my reply is "my work."
