We had a very disappointing experience with Tidewater Christmas Lights after having a wonderful experience with another company for three years (stopped doing residential lights). Among the problems we encountered were: a considerably higher quote, placed their ladder on the front of our neighbors house without asking them - twice, after they were unable to complete our job they told us they would be back later that day with the proper equipment- they didnt come back and didnt contact us for 5 days, on the 2nd attempt they came late in the afternoon and after dark they called from my front yard (didnt knock on the door to speak) saying they could not install our Christmas Lights and we would receive a refund for our deposit. This was the night of November 28th when stores had long been sold out of Christmas Lights making it nearly impossible to do our own, and finally some days later I received a message saying they had found the correct equipment to install our lights! For an additional $1200.This company was exceedingly unprofessional. I would seriously question using this compay and the owners other company, Tidewater Property Preservation.

Hi Mrs. Healy! We want to start off by again apologizing that we were not able to install your lights this season, this was a disappointment to us as well. Our inability to install the lights was solely based on safety which we explained to you and your husband. Our number one priority is always the safety of our employees. We did fail you by not communicating every step of the way as we tried troubleshooting the install with the previous company.
After speaking with them to find out how we could safely install, they let us know there was a specific type of lift needed because of the positioning of your home with the lack of space. They also let us know that they failed to add that lift charge to your invoice. Once we were able to find a lift suitable for the install we immediately reached back out to you letting you know the options which included installing the lights with the lift charge or refunding all monies to you since that was the only safe way to install.
Regarding your concerns about pricing, your price was the same minus the $200 discount you declined for the 3 year contract. With the ladder, you have an attached home and our technicians did not intentionally use the neighbors home as they were trying to find the best way to reach your roof but we apologize for that as well.
Again, we apologize that you found this process to be unprofessional and want to be clear that the safety of our team members takes precedence with each installation. Happy New Year to you and your family!

My family and I really enjoyed the holiday lights installed by Tidewater last year (2024). They looked amazing and definitely added to the festive spirit around our home. The team was friendly, quick, and professional, and we loved how everything turned out.One thing I didnt like, though: they mention that if a light goes out, theyll replace it, which sounded great at first. What they dont mention is that if a light goes out after Christmas, they no longer provide that service. That was pretty disappointing, especially since the guarantee made it seem like support would be available throughout the entire time of use of the lights.Overall, great lights and great experience just wish the post-Christmas policy was clearer upfront.

Highly satisfied with Tidewater Lights. Their sales representative, Brian, came to our house and showed us a sample of the high quality product that would be installed, how it would be installed, where it would be installed, and finally a breakdown of the cost. The installers did a great job. All lights installed securely. There are no visible wires. The lights illuminate in the proper sequence. Operation of the phone app that controls the lights was fully explained to me. The lights are everything I expected. They look beautiful. There are over 200 preset lighting scenarios and the ability to custom design your own scenario. I would certainly recommend Tidewater Lights for permanent home lighting based on product quality, quality of the installation, cost, and that everybody I dealt with, from the office to the field, was very professional. I rate them A++.
