FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a fee for service calls. If something can be done remotely, the fee is dropped. If I have to come in person to fix a physical issue, devices can be picked up and delivered if it will take a long time. I charge hourly and per job. Some jobs like virus removal can take many hours. We try to be competitively priced.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years of hands-on experience, lots of hours reading, many classes, and lots of research.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been interested in computers since my school got its first Apple in kindergarten. It had a 5" floppy drive, which is actually floppy. I craved knowledge about how things work. As I grew up, I learned about computers and video games, I learned how things work and how to fix what doesn't. I ended up being the local support guy for my hometown and many people I've met over the years. After years of providing support and learning more advanced information, I decided to start a business and charge for my services.
