One-on-one: 30.00/hr Group session ( in person only): 20.00 per person/hr Virtual Visit: 35.00/hr !0% discount for five prepaid sessions.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Find out what your goal is and what motivates you to pursue it. I do a quick reading assessment to find a good starting point. Ask a few questions to determine your likely learning style. As we go, I adjust the lessons to meet you where you are and better fit your learning style.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a B.A. in Psychology from North Carolina Wesleyan University and an M.Ed. in Special Education from Concordia University. I have more than 20 years of experience working with special populations and more than 30 years of experience in teaching, beginning with homeschooling my three children from preschool through early college and continuing in the North Carolina school system. My tutoring specialties include: Literature and literary analysis, reading comprehension, phonics and early literacy, vocabulary and grammar, essay and research paper writing, creative writing, speech writing and public speaking, ghostwriting, editing and proofreading, test-taking strategies and test prep (GED, SAT, ACT, AP English), and study skills.
