Very communicative and flexible in setting up lessons, and was a very productive hour long lesson. Helped me better understand how to use my own voice and very patient in helping me from basics to accompanying me with piano.

I have had four lessons with Juan Carlos Zepeda, with sessions divided into voice lessons and music skills (intervals, timing, etc.). Juan Carlos has a way of demystifying how the voice works (head and chest voice, placement, etc.). Each session clears something away and my understanding of the mechanics of it all is increasing. Juan Carlos has a beautiful singing voice, plays piano, and is both very kind and approachable. I highly recommend him.

I worked with Juan with the goal of playing a duet with my fiancee on our wedding day. I started with zero experience in playing piano. Juan is very patient and well prepared. He tailored a lesson plan for me to develop the techniques required to play the duet. I felt so great that I saw improvements every week. In about 3 months, I can now play the 4-minute duet with confidence. Mission accomplished! Thanks very much for your teaching!

Details: 26 - 44 years old • No, the student cannot read music • No formal training • Classical • Yes, the student has a keyboard • 45 minutes • As soon as possible • I travel to the piano teacher

I'm having a great time learning from Juan. I travel about an hour and a half to him from SF as I wanted an excuse to leave the city once a week. But I'm getting a lot out of the lessons and it's worth the long BART ride and walk. Juan is very knowledgeable about music theory and I appreciate his connecting technique and musicality with something theoretical or historical. I have taken mostly piano lessons but I tried out one voice lesson, which was also great. I would like to try another soon.

Details: 18 - 25 years old • Yes, the student can read music • 4+ yrs of formal training • Classical • Yes, the student has a keyboard • 60 minutes • As soon as possible • I travel to the piano teacher

I hired Juan Carlos to teach my daughters (ages 25, 22, 15) piano and he has been great at working with them! Juan Carlos tailors each lesson to fit their different skill levels and personalities, and they like him very much. He is punctual, professional, and very easy to communicate with. We're very happy to have him and would highly recommend him to anyone else looking for a dedicated piano instructor.
