FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I always strive to overdeliver on value when it comes to my music lessons, no matter if you're taking 30, 45, or 60 minutes with me. However, I am flexible when it comes to the occasional difficult financial situation and I have worked with various budgets in the past.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I spend time getting to know their goals, both short-term and long term, which gives me a window into who they are and how they want to show up in the world. We set up our first lesson with those aims in mind, and then I take the student through my structure, which is warmups, technique, then their chosen repertoire. I then create an individualized lesson plan based on their skill level, goals, and personalities.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching private voice and piano lessons for 4.5 years. I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelors of Arts in Music, emphasis in Music Industry Studies, including voice and performance training. I have studied with/been coached by Martin Green from Citrus College, Dr. Susan Ali and Kendra Vuk from Cal Poly Pomona, and Aretha Scruggs. I specialize in singing and teaching commercial styles, particularly pop, rock, and soul, but my approach to all commercial vocal practice is derived from classical traditions, mainly from the Swedish-Italian school of vocal production. No matter your skill level or background, you can be assured that you will receive a solid foundation in theory and technical skill through our lessons.
