Mark and I worked together closely for the last three years. Mark has outstanding insight into the lives of others. He has great compassion and is a good listener, but he also is able to go beyond these and provide a genuine therapeutic touch. He is a person of great integrity and that shows in all he does. He also is able to help people with very practical strategies. He is not afraid to challenge someone to be true to the directions they want to follow and and need to follow. He directly challenged me a number of months ago to stop talking about and start investigating something that I had mentioned several times as a possibility in my life. His challenge helped me to take the steps I needed and I am very glad now that I did. Mark is very bright and insightful. He is an excellent communicator at personal and public levels. He is creative and innovative. He is also trustworthy and safe to speak to. I am grateful that having journeyed together with Mark for these last years that I now consider him a close, wise, trusted friend.

Mark is very intuitive, having something like a sixth sense in his ability to hear, understand and know just what to offer at just the right moment. His genuine caring and intentional presence supports his instinctive ability to facilitate my self discovery. Once when struggling with a particular issue Mark made a statement which really landed, and then we were both silent for what seemed like several minutes. Mark allowing me that space of silence enabled me to settle in to the truth of his statement and experience the healing that comes from breaking through to clarity and knowing that I am understood and accepted. Mark is committed to having me experience inner peace combined with tangible action as I move toward completion of my goals. In working with Mark I have found a wise confidante and motivator of change, and rediscovered purpose and excitement for my life.

I have had the pleasure of working with Mark for the last four years. I have always found him to have such integrity and always such a positive attitude and I would always hear how wonderful he was and I never knew until I began having conversations with him and I realized that Life Coach was the perfect name for Mark. Mark has a genuine gift to listen and to hear your concerns and or help with goal setting . He has often challenged me at times in a gentle but loving manner and helped set much needed work goals and guidelines to succeed and not burn out. Many people think they are good listeners but Mark has the ability to listen and then redirect and set limits and challenges one to be honest with themselves to make life better each day. Often in a meeting at work I will listen for Mark's voice and or statements as he usually has a wonderful understanding of others often without people viewing opinions and can read with body language and observing behavior. Mark lives by example and tries to find peace and tranquility in every day living and enjoying the now and helping others to find that in their lives. I often have a facility that requests Mark's inservice's on a monthly basis. I once asked " Why do you enjoy Mark being at these meetings"? The response was " He listens without judging and then tries to help us find ways to cope in a challenging work place with people who always are not happy to be at work". I think Mark has so many wonderful attributes and although he works daily as a social worker Monday -Friday he truly lives his life finding the blessings in the day to day and trying to help others and give back to the community. He is such a encouragement to me and I know that anyone who would want to ask Mark for help in Life coaching would be blessed and have a truly honest individual with so much integrity that would help anyone attain there goals personally and or professionally .

Mark worked with our young adult son in coaching him to develop independent living and coping skills. Mark was a trusted adviser to us, as parents, but more importantly to our son. Mark developed a good rapport with our son, such that he would actually listen to Mark, rather than just react and reject things out of hand. Mark also helped us, as parents, to have more insight and compassion to our son's perspective and needs. Mark was patient, yet persistent. He was gentle to our son, yet quite firm. I appreciate the level of personal commitment Mark showed us, going out of his way to include our son in activities, etc. After working with Mark for over a year, our son developed the maturity to live on his own and to maintain full-time employment. We are thankful to Mark for that. Had our son stayed in CA, we would probably use Mark for ongoing support. As it is, we are grateful that Mark remains available to us and our son for support, mediation, telephone conferences, etc. as we need him. Steve Dallas, TX

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I would not say I decided to do this line of work but rather this line of work found me. I was one of those guys who others would ask for advice or seek me out when they needed a listening ear. When I found out I could earn a living doing psychotherapy and coaching it was not a difficult choice. who would not want to earn a living doing something they have a passion for and are skilled at as well.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Perhaps the most important aspect of coaching is goodness of fit. In other words when looking for a coach you need find one that you feel comfortable and emotionally safe with, someone who you feel you can trust and someone who you feel gets you. The second thing I would suggest is interview the coaches before you hire one. Ask questions because like I mentioned above feeling comfortable with your coach will reap far better rewards then if you are not. Thirdly if I was hiring a coach I would ask for their credentials and experience. When you talk with them do you get a sense they are competent? Do you feel they would be able to support you when you will encounter rough spots on the path to achieving your goals? These are simply suggestions in finding a coach that will work for you.
