I am licensed, insured, and bonded. I have over 15 years experience as a dog and cat groomer and have experience as a dog and cat trainer as well as educating on proper grooming needs. Woof Woof Meow started in 2010 and I have previously operated my business inside a shop, and mobile van. I have started doing house-calls by offering an in-home grooming experience where I groom your pet inside the comfort of your home. This allows for fully accountability and transparency as well as allowing you, the owner, to be apart of the experience. I set up in either your backyard, patio, secluded empty room, or garage and bathe in sink, tub, or backyard. I make sure to provide a thorough clean-up after grooming as well. I groom with the animals behavior, energy, and well-being in mind. I believe in a holistic approach to grooming and proper animal education. We are all vibrational beings and through human domestic- the dog was born. So in a way- our dogs embody the human spirit as they as sponges to our energy. Our companion animals have the ability to not only remember but to anticipate a bad memory. Often it’s the sensitivity to anticipation that leads to anxiety that causes the grooming experience to be bad. Offering in-home grooming we eliminate the stress and anxiety factor and focus on the well-being and positive experience of the dog. Grooming should be a bonding experience we have with our animals and not a rushed in-and-out service similar to an assembly line. This is where I come in, I am an experienced groomer who understands these emotional behaviors and can understand them through positive and patient communication. We groomers are the only ones who are able to train our pets how to be groomed and we are also the only ones that can cause life-long grooming phobias if your animal is not handled correctly which is why I specialize in puppies, kittens, seniors, animals with behavior issues or any dog or cat out there. My services focus on the ultimate spa experience. I am I am working on my pet aesthetician certification with Iv San Bernard shampoo line which is taught through and backed by a veterinarian, it is also pet safe certified. These shampoos cover from basic dirty dog spa to severe bacterial or fungal skin issues. I take pride in understanding the skin and coat of our animals as I all good grooms start with the bath. Pricing starts at $105 an hour for skin therapies* I am constantly working on certifications and earning continued education credits to expand my knowledge in the pet industry. I have experience within these categories. This IS THE CAT GROOMER everyone should use. She has a deep understanding about cats and their behaviors. Taught me tons that I did not know while she was grooming my fussy kitties. All 3 came out with beautiful coats. Maine Coon now has a light summer crew cut. Cat Groomers are rare....no one calls back or they are booking way out ahead. I felt fortunate that Melissa, the only one that called me back, was so gifted with cats....dogs, too.....but we only addressed our cats with this visit. She came to my home, which is probably less stressful for the cats. Melissa drives all over OC and LA area...a lot of miles during our gasoline price hikes. I highly recommend Melissa of Woof Woof Meow.

My cat is an elderly, somewhat skittish cat but the groomer was very professional and even gave me good advice on how to maintain a mat free coat in the future. Well worth the price given the size of the job.

Melissa was really great with my pets and had so much helpful information. I have two long haired cats and one dog, they all loved Melissa too! She is really in tune with the animals and had a very calm presence. I will be using her as my groomer from now on. Thanks Melissa!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Mobile grooming is typical 30-40 more then in salon. In salon average hair cut is $75 for a small dog. I try not to compare myself to other grooming services as I try to go above and beyond what a salon can provide you. I aim to be more of a professional caregiver to your babies.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started working with animals when I found out about Balto, the wolf husky and Hatchiko the Japanese Akita. From there I have been studying the communication and companionship humans and dogs have. I have worked in kitten rescue helping out orphaned kittens which lead me to be a cat trainer and study the behaviors and miss-conceptions society has had on cats and am currently studying, and training a cat family for the past 11 years. This has allowed me to understand cats and their emotions and has made be a better overall handler of pets.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with many, and any.
