I had been looking at ways to update my kitchen. Refacing was as costly as my original kitchen. I found California Custom Painting and Design and the quoted price was reasonable. Jennifer was very helpful and walked me through the process. Joe who does all the work of coating the cabinets and installing the tile was a true Artist. I enjoyed working with them and will be recommending them to my friends and family.

We're so happy with the kitchen remodel that Jen and Joe did for us! We get a ton of compliments on our kitchen and the cherry on top was getting to work with such an amazing duo! I originally was looking for only a cabinet painter and had planned to hire other contractors for the rest of the kitchen. But after talking through the details of my kitchen with Jen, I realized that her company would have the expertise to bring my vision to a reality. I had interviewed a lot of other general contractors but none gave me the impression that they were confident and or understood my vision like Jen did. I'm so glad I chose to work with them for the entire project. They were able to fit me into their busy schedule and had my entire kitchen completed within 3 weeks. That's pretty much unheard of in construction!
I'm especially grateful for the many steps along the way where Jen and Joe went above and beyond to create the kitchen of my dreams. I had a specific countertop that I wanted and Jen connected me with her suppliers and helped to negotiate down the price of the slabs and the installation. Jen also helped me to pick the perfect tile backsplash and cabinet pulls that would go with the rest of the kitchen. Having a designer that I could text and discuss things like lightening or how to think about the size / weight of a cabinet pull was so helpful. There were so many details to sort out in a short amount of time so Jen printed out a packet of information that described each step of the process and a checklist of decisions I would need to make sure we completed things on time. That made the process organized and streamlined. Once construction had started, I had to chance to work with Joe more closely and found him to be professional, efficient, and very hardworking. I would always be pleasantly surprised by how much he was able to accomplish by himself at the end of each day. Jen would always say that Joe is a master craftsman and I got to see that for myself when he extended my countertop to include built-in wine cubbies and a wine fridge. He expertly stripped the face of another cabinet we had removed to build the wine cubbies. Since he used the same material as the rest of the cabinets, you can't tell that the wine cubbies were an addition! I don't know of many other contractors that would have the expertise or patience to pull something like that off.
I highly recommend working with Jen and Joe for a construction project. They are an amazing at what they do and are a pleasure to work with!!

She kept my kitchen cabinet reface/paint project running smoothly, well organized, and within my budget. With her daily updates there were no surprises. I echo the wonderful sentiments and complements about Joe. He's a very pleasant man who arrived early and stayed late every day to complete our job in six days. Jen and Joe were GREAT!! From the very first time we communicated, I just knew that we would be working with them. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
WE WILL NOT BE YOUR LEAST EXPENSIVE BID. We will not paint one bedroom wall for $100. There is no difference in price if your walls just need “touch up,” We paint the entire wall anyway. We will not move all your furniture for Free before we paint your house. We are willing to help, but our time is your dime. If your expecting us to move and clean your house before painting because you really can’t do it, we will contract movers and professional house cleaners for you.
We will give you a super high quality product that is above and beyond the average for a fair price. We will go the extra mile to make you happy. We never cut corners, use cheap paint or leave anything undone. We do guarantee our work. We are also fun and easy to work with.
We provide great combo packages, such as paint and crown moulding. Kitchen cabinet paint and new flooring. House decor update and new furniture. Etc. You can negotiate if you are doing 2 or more projects.

Rapid response, pleasant and realistic communication, pictures sent back and fourth, quote given, scheduled date for pick up or consultation, partial payment received, pick up if item or delivery of service on sight, satisfaction of an excellent product received, for both client and contractor, payment received and great review accomplished.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Way to much to list.... we are artists and board certified contractors. The education in this field has its basics, but it’s really the School of Hard Knocks and the love of what we do that gives all of us our backbone. Success comes from doing!....and we are actually proud to say we have made enough mistakes in our time to not have to make again.
