FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a creativelive.com addict! I watch workshops given by creative professionals any time I get the opportunity to! I am part of a local facebook group for Fast Track Photographers. It is a philosopy, a book, and a movement for photographers to collaborate and help each other to become the best that they can be. We meet monthly and stay in touch daily. I have an adobe creative cloud membership so I watch the adobe channel to learn programs at a deeper level. I am a lifelong learner and I love to learn new creative techniques. I am humble enough, or wise enough, to know that you can't know everything and you can always learn something new.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have always loved photography. It is in my blood! I have been scanning some wonderful slides from my great grandfathers on both sides recently and my mother is also an avid photographer. I am nature lover and have a degree in marine biology and zoology so I have taken photographs of the animals that I love and the natural beauty I see everywhere around me for many years. I became a teacher and then a mother so I really enjoy photographing children and women. Two years ago I took a couple of years off to raise my little boy and start a portrait photography business. I am following my passion of capturing beauty wherever I see it.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I am currently a part of the Santa Cruz Open Studios. 2013 is my second year of welcoming people into my studio to showcase my wildlife and nature photography. I really enjoy meeting and talking to art lovers, wildlife enthusiasts and travelers winding their way through the redwoods on a warm saturday afternoon. Come by and see my work and I will send you a gift certificate! I am artist # 14.
