Introduction: Ciao! My name is Marianna and I have a Ph.D. in Italian from UCLA. I am excited for you to learn all things Italian! Born and raised in the countryside of the Po Valley between the cities of Bologna and Ferrara, I moved to the US to pursue my academic career. I’ve been teaching at different institutions in Los Angeles since 2009! I LOVE my culture and my goal is to make you fall in love with it too! As a Language Teacher, a former Graduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Barbara, a Teaching Fellow at UCLA, and a private Tutor at LILA for the Italian IB Test, I gained extensive experience in developing, coordinating, and teaching the Italian language and culture to students age 5 and up! Students describe my teaching as “dynamic, congenial, interactive, engaging, and anxiety-free.” They praise me for being “professional, caring, helpful, energetic, enthusiastic, encouraging, and inspiring.” I am a native speaker of Italian, a near Native-speaker of English, and I am also fluent in Spanish and proficient in French. “Well. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If you’re wondering why my rates are higher than anyone else here’s a reason. I’ve had for 10 years of experience working for any type of institution, private, or public, high school and universities included. I offer a packages for 10 hours, which is tailored to move you toward your learning goal by a specific deadline (just as if you were enrolled in a course). I am looking for clients that are committed and passionate about learning just as much as I am about teaching. Hourly: $85 10-hour: $800
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will set up an intro Zoom where I will talk to you to understand your needs for 5 minutes then I will give you a brief full immersive “class”! If you love it, we will set up your first meeting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Comparative English literature and creative writing from Occidental College, a MA in Italian from UCLA, and in a couple of months a PhD in Italian from UCLA as well.
