I called John for a nasty clog in the train of my bathtub that I'd been battling for a few days.
He offered me the best rate and came in within 2h of calling him. He was very professional and got the job done within 45 minutes. Would definitely call him back in the future!

John Gallagher offers great service in every respect. He's actually looking out for you -- this kind of service is very rare, and even more rare at John's reasonable price.
He had no problem taking my call and answering numerous questions about his past Thumbtack experiences and my situation in general. He was patient, thoughtful and happy to educate me.
I called him on a Sunday and he showed up 30 minutes early for our appointment on Monday. Punctuality like that is uncommon for a contractor.
He told me he had 40 years of experience and that became perfectly clear when he showed up -- within a few minutes he had my full trust and gave me invaluable counsel on how I should deal with my illegal bathroom that needs to be removed to cure a NOV/citation. Unfortunately my existing contractor changed his mind on allowing me to have John do the work (that's a long story) but because of John's expert knowledge I am now able to approach the work my general contractor does with a discerning eye. I know what needs to get done to pass inspection and I won't get coaxed into thinking it's 2 days worth of work when it's actually a half day.

John came to my place to investigate a mysterious shower leak. His experience was evident right away--he identified several possibilities quickly and then tested each one. He spent over 3 hours to make sure we isolated the exact cause and then made the repairs. He was patient and in good humor the whole time. If you need an expert opinion, give John a call!

We had a hot water problem in our shower, but it was more complex and needed some fixture work behind the wall. John identified the problem and did some research on parts/brand. Shower was back to normal (better than before) after his second visit. He is extremely knowledgeable and wants to get the project right.

It's not hard to figure I base all work on $85.00 per hr and $42.50 for helpers and I do offer 10% seniors discount

Yes all the time when ever there are code changes

I was l lucky. To have someone get me into plumbers union right out high school and I had a lot of good teachers
