- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have set my flat hourly rate at 50.00 an hour as this is the average rate of most pros. In many cases however I would prefer to meet, assess, measure and bid the project. Many people will get two or three bids when considering doing a home improvement project for example. I will provide a free estimate for any job where the hourly rate doesn't apply.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I reply to a request for service I encourage the customer to call me and discuss the project over the phone. We typically will both have questions for each other. Then either set a day and time to arrive and do the work or meet and measure so I can provide an estimate for the job.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the custom cabinet and remodeling industry for the past 40 years.
