Introduction: ZOT Zin Music is a private instruction based guitar school that helps students become excellent, inspired musicians in a very short time, through a personalized guitar & music curriculum that incorporates various principles and techniques of super-study, psychology, music pedagogy, time management and neuroscience. This approach insures students get the maximum out of their talent and out of their time invested in developing their musicianship. Why is this important for you? 1) You save a lot of money if you get more and stronger results out of every lesson. 2) Large part of the fun of learning an instrument: is this cool feeling of achievement you get when you can pull of things on guitar you could not play yet the day before. Those are just 2 reasons why our students have much more fun.

Vreny is the best guitar teacher I've ever had - period. He has a comprehensive and well-organized lesson plan that makes learning guitar easy and fun. Once you start working with Vreny, you know you're in good hands! His unique method of teaching has helped me really understand the instrument, as opposed to just learning random notes and chords. Vreny is always patient, and friendly, and happy to tailor the lesson to suit your interests. Couldn't recommend him more highly!

I have been searching for a long time for a guitar teacher that could really push me to the next level. When I found Vreny, I knew I had come to the right place. I have had teachers in the past that are not very effective in their methods, and it can be discouraging as a student. Upon my first contact with Vreny I noticed how focused and energetic he was. I was impressed before even having a lesson! Vreny gets right down to business and does not waste any time during the lesson. His entire curriculum is available to him immediately and he can customize his lessons to fit my needs as a guitar student. He is extremely patient, understanding and accommodating. With Vreny I feel like I am with someone who cares about my development in my instrument and takes it seriously. He has been able to add a lot of knowledge to my arsenal and elucidate concepts of which I only had a vague understanding. Because of Vreny my approach to the guitar has changed tremendously and I can feel the progress with every lesson and practice. If you're looking to get better at guitar and have a great time doing it, Vreny is DEFINITELY your man.

Look no further--you've found the perfect guitar instructor! Super patient & super knowledgeable, Vreny ensures you make the most of every guitar lesson and helps set goals that are fun to meet. He is very caring and wants you to enjoy every minute of your lesson. I'm always amazed at how quickly lesson time flies by, and that's because I'm engaged and learning something new. And he always asks, after every lesson, a very important question: "Did you have fun?" Yes, Vreny, I'm having great fun, and heartily recommend you to all my friends interested in learning guitar. It's been an awesome ride so far!

I am very happy to be learning guitar from Vreny. He is always very prepared. Not one second during our lessons is wasted. Everything we do builds toward a more fuller understanding of music, theory and technique. I find myself looking forward to practice because I can feel myself progressing, and everything feels like it makes sense. I think this is a big part of why Vreny is so effective; through his approach to teaching, you learn how to practice effectively. Each day I feel like I am actually learning how to play the guitar, not just how to play songs. Vreny always makes things fun and I would recommend him to anyone.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

All pricing info can be found here: zotzinguitarlessons.com/tuition/ I offer various discount packages to help my students save a lot of money on their guitar and music education. Students can buy their lessons using paypal on the site. I also accept cash, checks, and credit cards at my teaching studio.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

That really depends on the student. Students who, regardless of their level, have the ambition to become top, world-class guitarists and musicians in whatever style, can take advantage of my strong teaching plan that covers absolutely everything: * Theory * Harmony: Chords, voice leading, formulas, progressions, tensions, etc. * Scales * Rhythm * Improvisation * Stylistic elements * Guitar techniques & Shredding * Song studies * Music reading * Transcribing * Song writing and composition. * Recording. * Walking bass lines. *Ear-training * and much more. Then there are also the students who only want to learn certain specific things only, like for example: Bob Dylan songs, or everything Jimi Hendrix, or how to solo like Charlie Christian, or how to solo like Jimmy Page, or how to come up with cool funk rhythms, or how to play blues, how to write songs, etc. etc. There is no limit really to the number of things you can learn about guitar & music under my guidance. I teach from complete beginners to highly advanced guitarists and every level in between. :) My students all progress exceptionally fast, and many of my students went on to successfully earn degrees in Berklee, Juilliard and other top schools.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I earned 3 Degrees Summa Cum Laude at Conservatory and Berklee College of Music, in Classical Guitar Performance, Jazz Guitar Performance, and Music Production & Engineering. I also read about a book a week. Some of the books read this year: The Talent Code (Daniel Coyle) Zen Guitar (Philip Toshio Sudo) Effortless Mastery (Kenny Werner) The Music Lesson (Victor Wooten) The Inner Game of Music (Barry Green) The Kodaly Method (Music Pedagogy) The Orff Schulwerk (Music Pedagogy) This Is Your Brain On Music ( Daniel Levitin) Musicophilia (Oliver Sacks) This continuous study in my field is what makes me one of the busiest guitar instructors in Los Angeles.
