About
I bring over 40 years of experience playing and performing on a variety of instruments, as well as a deep understanding of music theory. My approach is first and foremost to make the experience of learning music fun.
I enjoy meeting new people, creating and fostering excitement about music, and watching musicianship take shape in all of my students as they progress through their instruments.

David has been great! He has been professional, prompt and responsive to any request. We appreciate his passion in his work and it reflects in the quality of the lessons he conducts. He works great with kids and we’d recommend him to anyone that is looking for music lessons.

David is a great teacher who isn't doing this for the money but to teach the art of music. He has stayed at my house twice as long as what I payed for and added no extra charge. He also gives a wide range of ways to relate his teachings. (IE. I take basslessons but we commonly go to the piano to practice and drill) all in all David is a great teacher and highly recommended. Definite 5 stars.

David is a very experienced musician. He has helped me learn a few picking riffs and syncopations rhythms. He has skills on many levels. He rewrote all of the chords for a song just so that I could play it more easily.

David met me today to pick my guitar and was a huge help in getting the right guitar for me and a couple of other things. I look forward to my weekly lessons with him with my beautiful new guitar.

I am so fortunate that I found David! I could tell right away that he has a natural gift of instructing and I that he’s experienced in teaching beginners! I also appreciate how he values the student as the unique individual they are. He doesn’t just jump into the lesson but I can tell he values getting to know you and the whys behind playing which I really appreciate. His teaching style motivates me and encourages me. In the past I’m struggled with performance and high levels of pressure but he has a way of creating a calm atmosphere where I can just be and that allows me to grow and get better- one step at a time!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer many different services, so the standards are different for each. For example, i charge $30 for a 30-minute lesson, $45 for a 60-minute lesson. My charges for providing entertainment services vary based on the individual requirement.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first few sessions are as much to get to know one another as they are to impart real learning. After an initial assessment, I try as much as possible to gear the lessons towards what the student hopes to accomplish, rather than what i believe should happen.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music degree from Sac State (2013) and have had over 40 years of experience as a musician and educator.
