FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked for the Kelly-Moore paint company for two years, and was one of the fastest people to rise through the ranks in company history. I started as an inside sales rep in the Pleasanton store. While there, I was promoted to tinter (color match specialist), lead sales (third key), then into the mit (manager in training) program. While in the mit program, I worked most stores in the east bay, and ended up as the Assistant Manager in the San Ramon (district office) store, where the clientele demanded a higher level of customer service. While working for the company, I learned from the best paint contractors (besides my Dad or brother) how they work, from sales process, design consultation, project management, to delivering a stunning project. I also worked closely with my outside sales rep on issues caused by bad work, or inferior products, and how to fix them. I became a Certified Paint Specialist by Kelly-Moore, and also a Certified Wood Care Specialist by the Samuel Cabot Stain Company.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a third generation painter, Dad had me start part time at age seven. I used to get extremely frustrated having to conceal other trades sloppy work, so ours would look great and last. I used to say to myself, "If I was the one who built this, it would be done correctly, and it would be easier to paint." So in 2006 I started branching out, doing other projects than painting. My father in-law picked up a condo to remodel in 2010, and let me take the project on as my first top to bottom remodel. It came out great!
