Hired on Thumbtack
I've found that trying to find good services off Thumbtack is pretty hit-and-miss. Sherrie is definitely a hit. We chose Sherri because she seemed to be a good fit, she listened closely to what we were looking for and was very flexible (some of the Thumbtack designers were very rigid in how they worked). We were just looking for someone to give us a couple hours of consulting to give us some ideas for a remodel. Sherrie was very open and did not take offense if there was an idea we weren't crazy about, she just gave us some other suggestions.
Here's the thing, along the way, there were suggestions that she offered that we didn't like. But after they percolated for a day or two, almost every idea we rejected we ended up saying, "You know, I think Sherrie was right..." and we implemented those originally rejected ideas and we are glad we did. She was right on target.
We had already decided on window treatments, Hunter Douglas because that's pretty much what's available here. Sherrie had some other products that we liked much better and were actually lower in price. As a matter of fact, we saved enough by ordering Sherrie's products to pay Sherrie's consulting fee.
We have since referred Sherrie, a lot of people just wanted to know where we got the window treatments, and we'll continue to do so. This was one of those times that Thumbtack got us to the right person.
Bottom line: I highly recommend Sherrie!

Always invest in a two hour consultation. It is important
you have a plan. You can purchase through the
designer or shop it on your own. Most people can
shop but they do not have a clue what they need to
make their home complete and cozy. They need
options and ideas. A design professional
can provide this for you.
