About this pro

How does your business stand out?

Every mover is personally trained in safe and proper lifting and securing of furniture, until it becomes habit. Doing things like laying blankets down in areas where things like long dresser might have to be set on end to go into a bedroom. We use items like shrink wrap and moving bands(large rubber bands) to keep drawers from sliding out during lifting. We do not hide damages, and try to point out if we see anything wrong before we move the item. In fact we can repair most on the spot, even have fixed items other movers damaged.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

Every day is a new. Always finding new challenges and thinking outside the box. Making what seems impossible possible. It's also great getting to meet new people and relieve there stress. Like to tell people pull up your lawn chair and your ice chest and relax.

Patrick and his team were awesome. Not only did they expertly pack and move our items, they literally worked 24 hours a day to ensure our entire office was moved over the weekend and we were ready for business on Monday morning. They built shelving and racks for a very large storage room and was available at any time and was ready to offer assistance in any other area we needed including unpacking as well as hauling away items we decided not to keep after the move. I would give this company A++

0 friends 1 review 5.0 star rating 5/31/2016 I highly recommend Patrick and Above & Beyond. Tyrese and Jay were a super team!! I moved from a one bedroom to a smaller one bedroom in Davis. Patrick, Tyrese and Jay were very professional, extremely respectful of my precious pieces and worked efficiently while staying careful. I have never had movers that used so many pads, blankets, wraps and safety straps. I always appreciate a business that makes safety a priority for it's workers. My stuff was really taken care of in this way. Even though I was a tiny job, they all were very polite, well-organized and conscientious. Patrick is very responsive and also double-confirmed with me the night before and the day of my move. I would recommend A&B and these 3 gentlemen to ALL of my friends, family and neighbors. My peace of mind is priceless ;).

This moving company saved the day as far as our furniture was concerned. They had the truck unloaded in 2 hours and managed to repair some of the damage caused by the ineptness of the moving company that loaded the truck. They were on time and didn't screw around. They even did some repairs to a shelf in the house we were moving in to so that we could have a chance of putting the tv on it. With the handyman maintenance we asked for they were literally done in 2 1/2 hours. I would definitely suggest anyone doing anything related to moving hire these guys

Patrick and Mo made moving easy. Patrick contacted me promptly and was able to schedule a convenient time for me even with short notice. He confirmed the move the day before and even brought boxes. They arrived right on time and worked diligently. I was impressed with the care they gave to make sure the walls and banisters would not be damaged. Everything arrive undamaged and after unpacking, they even helped me arrange furniture and gave me some tips on how to fix scratches on furniture which have been there for years. I highly recommend them.

A&B Moving was my best experience with a moving vendor. Patrick Pickard and his co-worker (I forget his name, but he was extremely friendly) were professional, courteous, prompt (did the work within 2 hours of me first finding them on the Web), strong (hey, it's a requirement in their line of work), and efficient. They moved furniture within my house, without any damage. I would use them again, without any hesitation. Ed (Granite Bay, CA)

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our standard rates are below: $60 per hour 2 guys labor only (each additional guy $30 per hour) $90 per hour 2 guys with a 16'truck (each additional guy $30 per hour) $100 for 20-26' truck
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Go over all their options and explain how we work, and what we provide. Then go over details of their move, in order to make sure we have the proper equipment and supplies required for the safe transportation of their belongings.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am the jack of all trades. A DIY (do it yourself) guy. Someone who mastered Tetris and knows the final reward wasn't a space ship but a ufo (old school gameboy). Have done trade school, 3 years college. Really what counts is my experience and how I train my crews. We are always learning and teaching from proper use of specialized equipment to how we pack the trucks.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Was slow working in a hair salon. My buddy just started his company and needed extra cash. Turns out it was fun. Everyday you seeing something different, coming across new challenges to overcome, and best of all meeting new people and relieving there stress levels.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Well I would have to say "D. All of the above" I have done everything from corporate office moves to moving a couch from one room to another.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Check out whoever you choose. There are a lot of scams.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
If you are packing yourself, make sure that if you shake a box of glass for example. That you don't hear anything clink. Because inside the truck is bouncy. Use things like clothes, newspaper ect to fill in extra space inside to help prevent damages.
