Introduction: I believe everyone should strive to be fit so that they can be as independent as possible, no matter what age or ability level. Growing older is inevitable; aging doesn’t have to be. I am a kinesiologist, which means I know about human movement. No matter how you move, I can help you move better--even if you have a disability or are new to exercise. Getting stronger and being consistent is the key to being fit. That’s why weight loss, although important, is not my only focus in my training. I also focus on the other components of physical fitness: cardio, respiratory, flexibility, muscular strength, and muscular endurance. In addition, I also work on agility, balance and coordination. I have worked with a variety of individuals, from teens to senior citizens and from able-bodied to the disabled. So if you are just starting out or simply seeking a better quality of life, I can help you reach your goal. We will work hard, but we have fun! I enjoy seeing results and witnessing my clients getting stronger. I love hearing their stories of accomplishments: running their first 5K, feeling confident at the beach, fitting into a favorite pair of jeans, or going down the slide with their grandkids. My greatest joy is seeing my clients believe in themselves.

I’ve been training with Lori for about 8 years now and she’s very precise. She is dedicated to her job and very professional, and I appreciate that. She knows her stuff! I only have to mention that I have an ache here and there and she knows the proper exercise for me to do. I would highly recommend Lori for anyone who is interested in training with her.

This was my first time working with a female Personal Training, Lori was very Professional and exciting to work with. She definitely motived me to work beyond my limitation. Wonderful facility to workout in, would definitely be going back.

I came to Lori Monroe for personal training at 83, seriously weakened by a neuro virus and aspergillus mold-induced Parkinson’s, chronically in pain. Nine months later, following a functional medicine non-drug protocol prescribed by our naturopath and working with Lori, I have few symptoms left, am virtually pain free, and my strength, flexibility and mobility are better than most my age. She methodically evaluated my condition, went to work on core strength first, then on building muscle, bringing back flexibility, increasing mobility (I have a natural stride again after deteriorating into shuffling), and stabilizing my balance. Lori’s a pleasure to work with. She’s knowledgable, warm and patient. She loves what she does and it shows. She challenges me but is also fastidious about avoiding injury, checking in about my overall energy level and any stiff or sore places from session to session, adjusting the exercises accordingly. When I told Lori I wanted to write a review for her she said, “OK thank you, but keep it real. Say anything that isn’t optimal for you, too.” Okay, Lori—but this is so no big deal: I have a lifelong word processing problem. Sometimes Lori revises the language of her instruction as we’re beginning a movement which results in a little brain scramble for me and takes a few seconds of mental effort to recalibrate. We straighten these glitches out on the spot. She’s never defensive, always gracious and considerate. In other words, if there’s any way Lori can adjust or improve her work to make it go better for you, she wants to. I never imagined I could rebuild to the extent I have. I intend to go right on rebuilding, working with Lori. Lori has special expertise in personal training for the disabled, but also trains people of all ages and physical conditions.

Lori is an amazing trainer!! I sprained my ankle on vacation and she was still able to train me and give me a great workout without using/interfering with my ankle. I have recommended her to many of my friends, and they are all very happy with her..... as am I. Thanks Lori !! You're the best !!

If you’re looking for a great trainer, look no further than Lori. Her positive attitude makes tough work outs fun, and her incredible breadth of knowledge keeps each session interesting. She is dedicated to form and will take the time to make sure you get it right, which allows you to feel safe and really focus on getting a good sweat session. She is thoughtful, dedicated, and a true pleasure to work with. I can’t recommend her highly enough!
