Introduction

I tutor elementary age students struggling with reading. I also specialize in teaching children with dyslexia using an Orton-Gillingham system designed for kids with dyslexia. I have been very successful with my kids and am quite passionate about my work as one of my sisters had dyslexia many years ago when there was no help. A child does not have to be officially diagnosed with dyslexia. Catching reading problems at an early age can prevent years of suffering and struggles. I love children and find it so rewarding to see them learn and grow and witness the pride they feel as they progress. Reading is such a fundamental skill that I hope to make a difference in all their academic progress. My patience with and love of children is probably my most important asset.

Maureen is punctual. She always sends a reminder text prior to her arrival. She promptly arrives at my house and is ready to begin tutoring right away. Maureen works well with my 8 year old son who struggles with reading. They progress at his individualized pace to master word parts and units, which leads to him feeling more confident in his reading abilities.
