FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All rates are per word, unless otherwise noted. As a first-time customer, I am pleased to offer a discounted rate. To learn more, please don't hesitate to inquire.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I respond promptly and courteously to inquiries. I always thank the client for considering my services. I like to conduct an introductory call to introduce myself to potential new clients and gain a sense of the type of editing and/or writing services they are seeking. I enjoy getting to know my clients. I also like to ask the following questions: 1. What is the total word count? 2. What kind of editing do you need (proofreading, copyediting, etc.)? 3. Do you have a deadline? I provide samples to give potential clients a clear sense of my editing style, attention to detail, and the value I bring to their project. It allows you to see how I approach tone, grammar, clarity, consistency, and essential qualities in a strong editor. Sharing a sample also helps ensure we're a good fit before moving.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Certified Book Editor and have received a professional certification in book editing from IAP Career College, demonstrating a solid foundation in grammar, structure, style, and industry standards for editing fiction and non-fiction works. I have hands-on Volunteer Experience. I provided proofreading and editing services for audiobook transcripts, correcting errors and ensuring clarity and consistency in spoken text, which provided valuable training in listening-based editing, and included a detailed review. I have 30 Years of Practical Editing Experience. I have edited a variety of internal documents, including Word documents, emails, PowerPoint presentations, and training materials, refining my ability to identify errors, enhance flow, and maintain a professional tone across business communications. I have written and edited articles in multiple genres, including true crime, celebrity news, wellness, and current events, strengthening my editorial versatility and voice across platforms.
