Mike was outstanding, easy to get along with accommodated all of our requests and is an outstanding musician. I would recommend Mike to anyone without hesitation.
Amazing musician. We will hire agin for sure.
UpRock has excellent musicians and awesome music teachers! Everyone I've met there is thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable and patient. Both of my kids love lessons at UpRock and have been eagerly attending for almost a decade. They love going, not just to learn music, but for the fun, encouraging yet professional atmosphere. That's wonderful because they've both benefited in many ways, some we've only realized now that they're older and face bigger and more complicated challenges.
Jonathan is multi-talented: not only an amazing musician that plays multiple instruments, but is also encouraging while providing professional guidance, patient, and a great communicator. He has a great musical ear! Working with Jonathan has proved to be key in my own musical development, and I look forward to working with him more in the future!
I had a great experience working with Rob for my wedding. He was extremely helpful and open to learning new songs that I requested. Also, a great musician.
This teacher is so flexible and a true pro. He's helping me (56), a former professional guitarist, play guitar duets with my daughter (23) a beginning guitarist! He's teaching us both at the same time, and we're both learning new things. Truly a special experience. I highly recommend Jacob for any level player who wants to learn more about playing the guitar.
Tim played a solo set for my girlfriend and I on Valentine's Day. He was very accommodating and even went the extra mile to make sure our night was perfect. The music was perfect and Tim was extremely talented. I would highly recommend him and his band any time!
I knew from hearing Martin perform many times that he is a tremendously gifted, knowledgeable, and accomplished musician. But studying with him is a special joy because he strives to make all aspects of his "total musicianship" available to his students. With his guidance, I am delving into the repertoire with new understanding of each composer's style and intention, techniques and tools, and with more feeling and excitement about being at the piano.
Hired him for an small anniversary event. Ryan showed up promptly and with everthing needed to preform. He was very professional and carismatic while entertaining our intimate crowd. I was incredibly impressed with his songbook and abilty to take requests. Ryan takes great pride in all the equipment he uses and it's grossly apparent when you sit back to enjoy the show. Watching Ryan play and sing, his greatest passion - Never a disappointment, always an experience. I have become a big fan and would and will hire Ryan and band to perfom at a future event.
Amy is awesome last time I played a instrument was in middle school and that was a clarinet so in terms of learning a string instrument like a violin I was nervous but Amy was always supportive, patient, and creative in her way to teaching me. I can say her neat tricks to strengthen my fingers were convenient for me as Im a student and have pencils and pens near me. I also received a lot of help and advice from her from re-learning to read music to how to work a tuner and of course how to operate my violin. I loved having Amy's help and would love to recommend other people to get her as a instructor. It was nice working with her and I'll miss her tons as I head on my solo journey to discover the violin. 😄😄😁
DalRae is an amazing teacher. She really thinks about how to teach and tailors her instruction to your level. She comes up with exercises that are not only fun and instructive, but also designed to help you understand musical concepts and progress in your playing. The fact that she is not only a classical musician, but also plays in a tango quartet is an added bonus, as it gives her an perspective that other strictly classical musician won't have (as I learned in our conversations). I have had several music teachers over the years, but DalRae is by far the best. Highest recommendations!
Ruby Jaye and the band performed at my wedding. Ruby learned all of the songs I wanted for my ceremony, and the band played 5 hours straight for the reception, only taking 1 quick break! They had great energy and paid attention to what songs everyone wanted to hear.
Christopher played for us on Saturday at an outdoor redwood grove chapel. His music so fit the occasion and location. No electricity was no challenge for Chris. He drove three hours to be with us. A very dedicated professional musician. Looking forward to an opportunity to hire him again
Hello! My name is Lindsay Grimes and one of my favorite things to do in life is sing. I have been publically singing and acting for over 25 years. I pride myself in having a wide range of vocal styles including Rock, R&B, Broadway, Pop, Blues, and my personal favorite, Jazz. I have performed all over Sacramento and I used to perform in San Francisco. I also sang with a Pop group in Las Vegas for a few years. I am comfortable performing for tens of thousands of people in huge arenas as well as intimate parties or restaurant settings. I work with an incredible pianist and have several other musicians available if so desired!!
Professionalism and we love what we do
I can supply a variety of music needs from a 14-piece "Big Band" to a solo hammered dulcimer (a beautiful ancient harp-like sounding string instrument) for a more quiet atmosphere. If more instruments are desired, a jazz guitarist, flugelhorn (a variety of trumpet) and saxophone is sometimes added. My music styles are varied -- from pop to classical.
Palmira "Pam" of Motto Music takes the time and care to ensure you have a high quality music experience for your special event.
I have the keen ability to make each event totally unique and special based on the clients personal needs and desires.
I do background acoustic guitar (if I'm solo), nylon/classical/Celtic things. I've seen that a lot of parties don't necessarily need or want a center-of-attention performer, but something on the side people can listen to or not as they like, low-profile. I've gotten a lot of compliments for adding atmosphere like that. Unless people want to just play cd's, then they don't need something like that.
There are many tributes to other artists, but few with the 2+ solid hours of chart-busting hits of Tom Petty. What makes GWO stand out from other Petty tributes are our easy-going professionalism and that we sound so close to the original.
