FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Working in animal rescue I saw many adolescent dogs surrendered by owners overwhelmed by an untrained, overgrown puppy. Behavioral issues are the most common reason for people giving up their animals. From a dogs point of view, they have no idea what is expected of them. They haven't been taught the rules but desperately want to please. I felt that I could help a lot of dogs and people by incorporating some training (when necessary) as well as preventing the boredom and pent up energy yjat often lead to destructive chewing and barking.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It;s important to consider what your pets care is worth to you. Many vets offer boarding for a very low price. Your pet however will for the most part be in a cage in very stressful surroundings. Kennels are another option but are still impersonal and are not suited for every dog especially older dogs or dogs with special needs. Whether pet sitting in your home or boarding your pet I am responsible for his physical and emotional well being. He becomes integrated into my life. My prices are comparable to kennels but I believe thepets are happier and less stressed in my care.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
My business consists predominately of repeat clients. Overtime I develop a friendship with a pet be it a dog or a cat. It's a relationship based on trust. I can't speak for everyone but I get to know them, their personality, their idiosyncrasies. I really value and enjoy them.
