FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Clients are charged on a per walk basis. Bills are emailed out once a month and can be paid by card, cash, check, Venmo, and Paypal. There is a two walk a week minimum but clients will not be charged if a walk is cancelled because of illness, vacation, holidays, etc.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to meet the client and their dog(s) in the clients home initially. Usually 30 minutes will be spent asking about the dog, the house, the schedule and whatever questions the client might have for me. I use this time to introduce myself to the dog and make friends with them with treats and games. For the first few days of outings, the dog will stay with me on leash as they get used to me and the other dogs in their group. I use a long line (and my most special, yummiest treats) when working on the dog's recall in case they're a little hesitant to come when called. After we have bonded and the dog has fallen into the routine, they can play off-leash like the rest of the group while we hike.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of Dog*Tec Dog Walking Academy. I worked for two years as an off leash group dog walker in San Francisco for a small but busy dog walking company. Prior to that, I worked for one year at a dog daycare for small dogs. I started my own business in the fall of 2016 and have been walking two groups a day, and some privates, since then!
