Introduction: My name is Chet Chwalik and I have a home studio in El Dorado Hills, CA of about 60 school-aged to adult students, teaching piano, trumpet, French horn and jazz improvisation.
* Video and in-person lessons available.* Lessons are $30/half hour, $60/hour, with a 10% discount when two or more are in the same family (and a discount for piano tuning). (I have a Bachelors in Piano Performance, Univ. of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and am an active member of MTAC, Music Teachers Assoc. of California.)
This is also the home of the Online Music Portfolio or "OMP", where each student receives their own website.
Each student website includes the following:
* Audio samples/Video links -- this page includes my professionally made play-alongs to help keep that steady beat, as well as other important video and audio sample links essential to the development of the student's own skill and music appreciation.
* Games and Learning Tools -- this page includes entertaining games and learning tools for learning music theory, ear training and more.
* Glossary of Terms -- each student's glossary only covers the theory and musical terms covered with that specific student.
Performance opportunities include an indoor (or virtual) recital in December and in the Spring, as well as an annual outdoor End of Summer concert in late-August/early September, on a stage on my driveway. See pictures and more at my website.
Each performance offers an opportunity to play with a professional bassist and drummer, depending on the music. Students of all ages have enjoyed taking advantage of this. More performance opportunities through the MTAC.
