About

I started studying the piano as a teenager in the hopes of learning to play my favorite video game music. I quickly developed a passion for classical music and various other musical styles as studying music opened me up to a wonderful new world that I previously didn't know existed, and I hope to share that with my students. I hold a BM in Vocal Performance and Composition with extensive studies in Vocal and Piano Pedagogy, and I have about 10 years of teaching experience. I tailor lessons specifically to the gifts and needs of each individual student.

Well, what can we say about Michael? Words aren’t enough!! We write this review as a family, as three of us have been students of Michael - two for piano, and one for voice. Michael is an excellent teacher, and is amazingly talented! He has a very warm personality, and creates a conducive teaching environment by being encouraging and friendly. Michael is very technique-driven and really helps one hone their skills. He shares his own experiences with students, and makes understanding music theory simple, both on the piano and in voice. He is great with ear training and rhythm. Michael is super-observant, and gives receptive feedback based on every little detail. We miss exploring music with him now as we have moved out of state, and will never forget the course that he has set us on and are forever grateful! There are many days that we wonder ‘If only Michael was here to advise....’
