How does your service stand out?
There are many people helping moms and dads navigate the journey into parenthood. I stand out because I have been researching and learning about birth, lactation, and positive discipline before my own children were born. I have taught professionally and have the confidence to teach moms and dads. I constantly am looking for new ways to service my families and am currently on track to become a certified lactation consultant. My greatest joy will be when I can service my families from conception to the postpartum period.
What do you enjoy about the work you do?
Wow! What isn't there to like about teaching moms and dads. I love that I can be a part of something that is life changing and know definitely I made a difference. When a dad calls back after the birth telling me how my classes helped me understand labor and that his confidence was lifted when he knew what to do and didn't fear the birth process, I know then I did my job in educating those parents. And of course, seeing the babies after is a great perk. I get to enjoy the baby without having to parent. It is wonderful.
