I'm very happy after the work BJ Saidi did for me. He was prompt in his responses and helpful with any questions I had. He edited a short bit of home video, fixing the color and stabilizing it. BJ sent me four different editing options to choose from and charged me a great rate. I will definitely use him again and refer anyone who needs editing work to him in the future.

I was very happy with BJ's work. He helped me with a video for my husband's 40th birthday. He was very responsive, responded to communications quickly and gave me good direction in how the process would work and how to work with him in spite of a 12h time difference. He also worked quickly and was able to turn the job around in the short amount of time we had discussed. He was resourceful when a challenging situation emerged (half of the clips were in a different language which made it hard to edit) and found an efficient way to work through it. He was creative and proposed a fun theme that tied the clips together really nicely. Finally, he showed great work ethic - for example, he didn't hesitate to make a few additional edits I asked for after the deadline and payment. All in all, nice and reliable!

It was my first time to use Thumbtack to hire a video editor and I chose Bj. I remembered that he was very patient to explain what is the normal process and I decided to hire him during talking with him on the phone. He listened very carefully about my needs and thought and he finished one draft video very quick! I already like the draft one a lot! After talking with him about some minor changes, he was also very patient about making any revisions, also in a timely manner. Most important, he showed his professional on editing because he always picked up phone very quick, which made me feel assured. I think Bj is a professional and trustworthy editor. BJ did an excellent job editing my video, "Breaking the Silence of Bullying." He transformed what was basically raw footage with actors into a beautiful and intriguing film. BJ, a multi-talented film editor and musician, created a visually artistic film for me that will inspire and captivate audiences. Additionally, BJ maintained close communication with me through phone calls, mailings and emails. Responses to my questions and suggestions were professionally addressed. As my project neared closure, BJ consistently asked if I were satisfied with the final product and organized all pertinent materials for mailing to my home. I found working with BJ a pleasure. Because of his talents and creativity, I now have a film that I am eager and proud to present to any audience.

BJ created a Happy Birthday video montage from a series of videos my husband's friends and family sent to me. He helped me every step of the way to make what could have been an average video of people talking, into a fun, entertaining meaningful birthday video. He had so many ideas that I hadn't thought of that made this video special. Including music videos, pictures, special quotes. BJ has a great sense of timing with the music, and where to include some random footage. Worth every penny. It made my husband smile, laugh and cry when he watched it. Thank you so much BJ!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on the amount of source material being given to me (source material is the total amount of recorded footage) and any other functions required to complete the task other than editing like graphics, titles, music, voice over etc.. I calculate the hours needed to perform the job and multiply it by an hourly rate.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once hired, the client sends the material (email or mail depending on the amount to be sent), I work to complete a draft, it is then viewed by the client for approval or changes and/or modifications, then a payment is made once they see the work has been done and the final product is sent back.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 11 years of post-production experience, I sat in rooms with some of the most prominent professionals in the field and watched, learned and applied their skills to my own. Almost all of them were so generous to share their knowledge with me. I'm very grateful to them!
