FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Being a young adult and student, it is hard for me to find time to commute. So it is preferable for me to have the student come to me if the distance is further than Fullerton city. If I must commute out of the city, I would do so gladly, but may increase my price to compensate for gas and time to travel. I do apologize if this is inconvenient and if you communicate your situation I am sure we can reach a solution.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am still a student at CSU Fullerton studying for my undergraduate degree in Flute Performance and Music Education. With that said I may be quite busy on a regular school basis, but there is no doubt I have current education to keep me fresh.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
For beginners, I teach them the basics of flute and how to have a good start on flute habits, as many do not without the proper teaching. We would look at all the fundamentals as I see fit for the student and we must also have fun, because its music! I like to incorporate fun tunes, or have the student apply the information given, in a fun way. Work hard, then play hard. For more proficient players I would like to push them to play more into the flute repertoire along with the fundamentals I give them. They can be expected to have some piece or excerpt of music prepared for their lesson and I would give them coaching on how they can improve on top of what they have already practiced. For me, the music is always first. I have met technically gifted students and students who have a lot of music in their heart but did not have the training to sound as advanced. I wish to improve on their weaknesses and bring out the individual qualities that make their music sound unique.
