About this pro
Bill came out and fixed or issue and took the time to not only shop for the part we needed but only charged us his the cost for the part. He also took the time to answer other tech questions that we had. Great value and great service.Mar 3, 2018VerifiedBill S.'s reply
Hi David, Thanks for the great review. I tried to send you a receipt, but have your email wrong - if you would text me your correct earthlink email, I will get you your receipt for your records. Thanks again, Bill
Bill helped us replace a 32" tv with a 43" tv in our existing articulated wall mount. The new tv required additional screws and washers so Bill promptly went to the local hardware store to purchase them. He completed the work quickly and efficiently for the quoted price.Dec 29, 2017Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge $95 for the 1st hour (minimum billable time) for all visits. Although not complicated, some of the following will affect my fee: I will often NOT charge more than the minimum $95 to complete what I consider my basic service, (Complete security check and evaluation of every client's system, and a mini tune-up), even if that requires more than an hour, in addition to remedying all the issues requested. I need to charge extra for the following: Travel - depending on distance to the client, and if I will not be in the general area when the client needs my service. Software - usually only Anti-Virus if yours has expired or is not a good performer. Also specific software to perform a needed client request if there aren't any free available. Parts - any hardware that needs to be replaced or added.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? There are numerous classes available for specific areas of study, but I do my own learning as needed for newly released or updated software (like new MS Windows OS versions and new MS Office releases). I try and keep track of the current hardware technology and software programs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? Was going to be a chemical engineer and the 1st year in college had a tough time with the imaginary functions of Calculus, while getting a surprise A in FORTRAN programming. My friend's Dad had just opened the 1st Computer Programming school in the country, so I went there at his suggestion. Got a job after completing the 1st class in Assembler programming (Mainframes). Been in the IT field amd learning ever since.
