Neither hypnosis nor coaching require a license in the State of California, thus it very important to ask about the provider's training and credentialing process. Some programs require only 40 hours of training and others take years. Ask. The Human Motivation Institute (HMI) was the first accredited hypnotherapy college in the U.S. and requires extensive training to receive certification, including 200 internship hours working under a hypnotherapy professional. Look for membership in the International Coaching Federation and the American Hypnosis Association.
