Thanks so much, Sally, it was a delight to meet with you & Al -- and we got all 6 of those rich new hues selected in just a tad over an hour too! I'd love to know how everything turns out and please let me know if you need painter referrals too (can contact me via my website). Cheers & don't forget to take those "before" pics....once in place, these warm new colors are going to make you fall in love with your lovely home all over again.
Maria was a JOY to work with over the space of appx. 10 mos. -- and while I did walk her through the selection of just the write shade of ivory for her walls (!), she surprised me by embracing the dramatic soapstone countertop w/ built-in farmhouse sink I suggested for the kitchen along with other aspects of color/pattern here and there to help add warmth to her handsome new home. The majority of the rendered kitchen elements I designed for she & her hubby were subsequently implemented too. Such a wonderful project and clients, and it's such a privilege to help homeowners building their just-right dreamhouse in particular -- I remember well the demands of that demanding process having gone through it personally in both designing as well as serving as the gen'l. contractor for my own residence.
Vicki and her hubby just moved into an older home when they contacted me for help. I assisted them with selecting (lovely!) paint colors for all rooms in their house, including enhancing the architecture in their dining room by more appropriately harnessing the visual properties of color when repainting their room's dramatic interior columns & archways, along with a redesign of the adjacent living room's fireplace/focal wall via color. Additionally, I worked with them in talking through their need to remodel their kitchen which included the removal of an awkwardly placed corner pantry taking up valuable space on the focal wall. After I suggested deleting an unnecessary second doorway to the dining room (further enhancing the smallish kitchen's planned update re: functionality), I then created 3D renderings with an initial layout design so they could visualize the changes they were wanting to implement (including two different cabinetry options as requested). And I was delighted when these passed muster on the very first round. At this second in-home appt. to present the renderings, I also provided Vicky with some space planning assistance re: helping her existing furniture find just-right spaces in her new home. As Vicki kindly shared, I do listen carefully to my client's needs -- and strive to create a roadmap for the direction THEY're envisioning for their home...
