For the last three years my wife and I were looking for a way to get more SQFT out of our house, but kept running into extremely high costs of such design. After working with Nick of TradeCraft Architecture, we were able to come up with a great (and creative) design that worked for our family and budget. Nick is awesome. We hired him to create a site plan for a city building permit (long, painful story), and here's what Nick did that was great: (1) He was super responsive right away and throughout the process. (2) He wrote up a contract and bid right away and stuck to it. (3) He helped us come up with some creative approaches to an issue we were having with the city. We'd become really overwhelmed and he helped talk through ways to approach the problem. (4) He's nice. Super, super nice. (5) He returns calls quickly and you don't feel like you have to jump through hoops and schedule an appointment a week down the line to talk to him. (6) His work is solid, professional, and clean. (7) He thinks outside the box when dealing with the city. (8) He delivered the product right on time, as we'd agreed. If you're going through any kind of building/permitting process and want someone who is not only an excellent architect but also great to talk through, kind, and thoughtful--then Nick is your man.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We are not the cheapest option available. We bring together a thorough knowledge of code, cost, and constructability to produce plans of superior quality. This takes time and effort. If you are selecting your Architect based solely on cost, we are not your best option.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B. Arch from a top Architecture school (Cal Poly, SLO). Licensed Architect since 2012. MBA from UC Berkeley (Haas). I've renovated my own home. I understand the challenges of renovating and the financial stresses of construction at one's home.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with all types of customers - from pension fund investors, to small scale multifamily developers, to individual homeowners. We know how to address each type of client differently and will do the same based on your specific needs.
