FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer online lessons unless you're in Marin County or in the Bay Area close to Marin. One lesson (55 minutes) is $ 100. If you are interested in different lengths, please contact me, I am happy to talk about the options. You are not required to have lessons on a regular basis. Whatever works best for your schedule—whether you want weekly lessons or just a lesson once in a while—you will not be locked in and you only pay for the lessons you receive.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Getting to know one another is very important. It is essential that the student is comfortable with the teacher. I always make sure the student and their parents know that and do not hesitate to let me know of things they would like to do differently. The next step for me is to find out how the student learns, i.e. what techniques work best for them. Some students are more visual, others pick up things more quickly by ear, for example.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Master of Fine Arts (Jazz Drums) from California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles as well as a 1.5-Year Diploma from Drummers Collective in New York City. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental/Civil Engineering from the University of Technology, Munich, Germany (Technische Universität München, TUM).
