Life skills coaching helps clients to overcome the barriers to life success. Enhancing your ability to be effective in listening, communication, time management, conflict management, self-leadership, and numerous disciplines can jump start even the most challenged career. Our approach is to build awareness and confidence using a blend of theory and experience based exercises and feedback.

Our coaches are thoroughly trained in coaching theory and they are accredited and members of the International Coaches Federation. Further they have more than 20 years of real world experience and wisdom to help you grow and succeed.

Our customers consistently rave about their progress and ability to find opportunities, how their skills have improved. A recent client shared that his listening skills had improved from a "D-" to a consistent "A" within his organization. He is now able to influence others and is in line for promotion. I have known and worked with Ron as a friend, co-worker, and follower for over 11 years at Steelscape. Ron is a terrific leader who has developed greatly in wisdom and knowledge in working very hard at various advanced leadership positions in our company as well as teaching and learnings through his course work. He has personnally helped me overcome opportunities for improvement I have with my leadership style as well as coaching me on how to lead more effectively both at work and outside of work. I owe him greatly and he is a fantastic asset to any organization or individual looking for coaching/mentoring/teaching opportunities.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Helping clients find mid career direction. Many of us find half way into our working life that what we have been doing has little significance and we wonder is this all there is? Our passion is helping our clients direct their career toward their passions whether this is a new direction or simply a minor course adjustment.

We also coach many clients on overcoming interpersonal skill challenges. Lets face it they don't teach this stuff in school and many of us were not fortunate enough to have been born with great interpersonal skills. Developing Leaders can help you fast track you interpersonal skill development. You will be shocked how significant a factor this is in holding back people from career advancement.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Find a coach that you can relate to, a coach that is personable, a great listener and an intelligent person. Ultimately the coach should be able to collaborate with the client to build shared goals. Within the first meeting you should be able to get a feel for whether the coach has the ability to listen effectively and understand where you are at.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Many coaches follow a standardized script in their approach to helping clients, Developing Leaders customizes their approach for every client to ensure optimal effectiveness and successful client outcomes. We listen, we understand, we collaborate to build a client goal, we help create awareness, we encourage growth and ultimately help build client confidence.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The thrill of knowing that a person who is struggling in some aspect of their life is now far better equipped to handle the struggle. they can now overcome and succeed where before they were stuck and unable to move forward.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How is a coach different than a consultant or a therapist?

Coaches do not help clients overcome psychological issues nor do they address other mental health conditions. Coaches are ethically bound not to enter into any type of therapy or counseling.

In contrast coaches also do not TELL clients how to improve as a consultant would.

The coach listens deeply to the client, collaborates with them to find goals that are meaningful to the client then through the process of listening and asking powerful questions helps the client build self awareness of a NEW reality.

With the awareness building the coach will collaborate with the client to design actions that will enable the client to practice their new growing skill and gain confidence in their new found abilities.
